Membrane Systems Inc. is proud to be a member of the Georgia Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association, as well as the National Roofing Contractors Association. Our membership in these organizations shows our support for the industry and provides us with the very latest in roofing industry information.

We are also proud to be one of the Charter Governor's for the Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. Working with the NRCA and the National Roofing Foundation, roofing contractors and industry allies from the across the United States organized The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. Working within the framework and governance of the Foundation, this new program will identify, shape, and fund critical educational and research projects for the industry.

Industry investors in the Alliance have pledged $10 million to the creation of a permanent endowment fund that will generate annual income for innovative programs that support education and research in the industry.

Projects funded to date include:
  1. Gallup Organization poll was conducted nationwide to determine the views of roofers and contractors on job and employee characteristics, employee satisfaction, professional relationships and training. The results will ultimately lead to pragmatic recommendations to contractors to assist them in recruiting, training, and retaining qualified workers.

  2. Development of NRCA Roof Application Training Program. This is a comprehensive series of worker training modules being produced by NRCA to ensure a pool of qualified roof mechanics throughout the industry. This three year project involves the development of a 33-module training program in English and Spanish.

  3. Helping to fund programs to help attract and train the next generation of workers for our industry. Through Alliance efforts, a curriculum has been developed that will be used for entry-level workers through such programs as the Department of Labor's Job Corps Training Program and a program for unemployed young people developed by the National YMCA. Students will learn about common roofing practices and equipment, and will also be trained in vocational literacy.
